Welcome to InTheEyesOfAStudent. This site documents the perspective of a student learning the medical world slowly and deliberately.

Under posts, you will find: paper walkthroughs, discussions of future implications, initial impressions and “what changed”, and the characteristics of diseases discussed.

Characterization and “walkthroughs” presented here are not meant to be completely informative, but rather how I would start my understanding regarding each topic, enough for a “kick-start”.

The thinking behind this project is explained in more detail on the About page.

“That message is simple: When you come to one of the many moments in life when you must give an account of yourself, provide a ledger of what you have been, and done, and meant to the world, do not, I pray, discount that you filled a dying man’s days with a sated joy, a joy unknown to me in all my prior years, a joy that does not hunger for more and more, but rests, satisfied.”

Paul Kalanithi, When Breath Becomes Air (2016)

In my own words, humanity gives medicine it’s essence.

“Study hard what interests you the most in the most undisciplined, irreverent and original manner possible.”

Richard Feynman, Theoretical physicist
